A 24-year-old Bradford man has gone on trial at Bradford Crown Court, accused of offences of violence against a 15-year-old boy who was attacked with a baseball bat and a knife.
Shakil Miah, formerly of Burnsall Road, Barkerend, but now of Stoke-on-Trent, pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding with intent and two offences of having an offensive weapon.
Prosecutor Martin Sharpe told the court yesterday, a 14-year-old co-accused had pleaded guilty to some of the charges, including stabbing the victim three times.
Mr Sharpe alleged Miah was also involved, repeatedly hitting the victim with a baseball bat. He said the victim had won a fight with the 14-year-old, on March 31 last year. But ten minutes later he was standing with two other boys when a silver Vauxhall Vectra pulled up and the two accused got out.
Mr Sharpe said they chased the complainant into Amberley Street and cornered him outside a butcher’s shop, where the alleged attack took place.
The victim suffered a number of head injuries and three puncture wounds to his body, one of which punctured his bowel.
The trial continues.
