A 16-year-old boy was robbed of his mobile phone while he was walking home from school.
The boy was with a friend in Ings Grove Park, Mirfield, when they were approached by a man who asked to borrow his phone.
The 16-year-old said he did not have any credit on his phone and tried to walk away, but was stopped by the suspect who grabbed and threatened the boy.
The suspect then grabbed his mobile phone and ran off.
The man was white, in his late teens, of a slim build and about 5ft 8ins tall.
He had long brown hair to the middle of his neck and was wearing a brown or dark-coloured hooded top with the hood up. Police have urged witnesses to the incident, which took place at 4.10pm on Tuesday, January 24, to come forward.
Witnesses, or anyone with information, have been asked to contact DC Sharon Rollinson at Huddersfield CID via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
