A family member of a Bradford soldier who lost both his legs in an explosion in Afghanistan raised hundreds of pounds with a 12- hour snooker marathon.
Sapper Benjamin Lee, 19, of Odsal, was searching for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) when he was injured.
The former Yorkshire Martyrs Catholic College pupil, at Tong, is now undergoing treatment.
His dad’s cousin Lee Jackson, 43, of Wibsey, Bradford, held the marathon at the Buttershaw Lane Working Men’s Club on Saturday to raise money to go towards Sapper Lee’s rehabilitation.
Mr Jackson (pictured), who won a Telegraph & Argus competition in 20006 to play Jimmy White, played a frame against 20 opponents and beat 15 of them.
He said: “I feel absolutely shattered now and my hands are sore, but it’s worth it.”
Fundraisers at the club have so far managed to raise £12,000 for Sapper Lee.
