Addingham Parish Council is to increase its council tax precept in the coming financial year after losing rent from Bradford Council for the village library.
The council has agreed to charge the community a total of £27,146 for its services in 2012-2013 – an increase of almost eight per cent.
The annual charge for a Band D household in the village will be £15.95, on top of council tax payable to Bradford Council. The precept has not gone up since 2009.
Bradford Council rented the ground floor of the Old School building on Main Street for the village library, but pulled out last year due to cost-saving measures.
The council says the precept will cover budgeted expenditure, and has not made use of additional money available in its reserves.
