An 80-year-old Bradford fundraiser has been nominated for a National Retirement Award.
Former paratrooper Jeffrey Long (pictured), of Bingley, raised £9,000 by walking 90 miles last year in aid of the Royal British Legion.
He also supports Battle Back, a new rehabilitation centre for people wounded in service.
Retirement homes firm McCarthy & Stone is holding its first National Retirement Awards this year.
Steve Secker, of the company, said: “We want to honour these amazing individuals and we’ve been really impressed with the entries we’ve received to date.”
To nominate a retired person for an award phone (0800) 919132 or visit mccarthyandstone.co.uk/retirementawards. The deadline is February 29.
