Managers at a Bradford branch of Yorkshire Building Society spent yesterday trapped in a lifeboat to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Bosses, including the new chief executive of Yorkshire Building Society Chris Pilling, were not released until their fundraising targets were reached.
The stunt was part of RNLI's SOS Fundraising Day, which aims to raise funds to ensure the charity's volunteers and lifeguards can continue to carry out life-saving rescues.
Yorkshire Building Society is on a mission to raise as much money as possible for the RNLI after it was chosen as its charity of the year.
Staff at the society's branches also wore spots or stripes for the day and encouraged customers and members to join in the fun.
Mr Pilling said: "I've already had the chance to meet some of the RNLI crew and spend time on a lifeboat and see just how hard these crews work to keep people safe."
All members of staff at the society's 178 branches will be undertaking fundraising for the charity throughout 2012.
