Bradford-based theatre company Paper Zoo is to tour with Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
The production, directed by Julia O’Keeffe and performed by Bradford College staff and former students, marks the company’s return to the works of the Bard.
“We are relishing the challenge of staging The Tempest, creating the magical isle with a small cast and few props,” says company member Kate Shackleton. “Playing multiple roles has also been great fun, and the quick changes really keep you on your toes as an actor. The play is about finding forgiveness for those who have done you wrong, and being at peace with yourself. The storm rages inside Prospero”
Using its trademark blend of energetic storytelling and visual inventiveness, Paper Zoo has put together an energetic performance of Shakespeare’s final play. Catch it at Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, Halifax, on Thursday, February 9. Tickets are on (01422) 353073.
