A 33-year-old man has died after he reportedly set fire to himself outside his Bradford home.
Emergency services were called to Newport Place, Manningham, at 4.45pm yesterday where they found the burned man.
A witness said they saw him setting himself alight.
The injured man was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We can confirm the 33-year-old man taken to Pinderfields Hospital last night died in the early hours of this morning. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
The man was not being named by police until relatives have been informed.
The coroner will be informed and an inquest will be held at a later date. Faqir Ur Rahman, chairman of Manningham Residents Association, said he was a neighbour of the man who died, who he knew by the name Ali. He said: “He lived just a two-minute walk from myself, I would usually see him when I’d go to Mosque. I can’t believe it’s happened, I was very upset.”
