An appeal has been lodged against an enforcement notice requiring the re-instatement of “important open space” in Kettlewell.
Members of the Yorkshire Dales National Park’s planning committee decided to take enforcement action against a hardstanding that had been created opposite Wears Fold, claiming it had an unacceptable impact on the character and appearance of the village’s conservation area.
But the matter will now be decided by a planning inspector after an appeal was lodged by Christopher Crabtree.
He claims planning permission should be granted, there was no breach of planning control, the enforcement notice was not properly served and the steps required to comply with the notice were excessive.
