Bradfordians are being urged to take a journey into their family history with Bradford Libraries.
Bradford’s Library Service has teamed up with Bradford College to offer a course that will guide people through the subject.
The ten-week course is open to anyone interested in researching their family tree.
Participants will receive help and guidance in learning how to trace family history by using library resources such as ancestry websites, census and military records, and birth, marriage and death indexes.
The course will run at Keighley Local Studies Library from Tuesday, January 24, and Thursday, January 26, at 10am to noon.
Bradford Central Library’s course starts on Saturday, January 28, at 10am to noon.
Councillor David Green, Bradford Council’s Executive Member responsible for culture, said: “Researching family history is a rewarding process and with millions of records available online, there has never been a better time to start.
“These courses will offer people a great opportunity to delve into their past and find out who their ancestors were.”
The course will cost £50 per person, including an enrolment fee.
