Parish churches across the Bradford Diocese are being given the chance to win a £10,000 prize for commissioning new art.
The Church Buildings Council prize will go to the best-prepared proposal and not for a particular artwork. The deadline for the first stage is February 29.
Parishes need to explain why the art would be commissioned, what it would be and what for, and where it would go.
The best bids with the most promising rationale for a commission will then be invited to work up their proposal in detail for October 1, whether it be textile, metalwork, sculpture, an installation using mixed media, a painting or glass.
