Addingham Civic Society is putting its membership costs up as it prepares to take on bigger roles and projects in the community.
The society has more than 400 members and has seen an increase in membership applications since it jointly organised a public meeting over the Bradford District Local Development Framework (LDF).
Individual membership will rise by around £2 to £8 a year and double membership will cost £15.
Chairman Jim Robinson said membership fees had not gone up recently and the society’s activities were likely to expand in future.
The society has been in numerous talks over powers and roles expected to be available under the Localism Act.
It also plans to continue fighting the LDF target of building 400 new houses in Addingham, opposing plans for bigger wind turbines at Chelker and co-ordinating village activity for the jubilee.
