A 20-year-old singing sensation has teamed up with an old school friend to produce a fundraising single for charity.
Memories of You is performed by rising opera star Lucy Watmough, of Otley, and written by Christopher Bevan.
The song is available to download now and a CD is due to be released soon.
All proceeds from the song will go to the armed forces charity Help for Heroes.
Lucy, already an old hand at recording after producing her first CD aged just 13, said: “Chris and I were friends at Prince Henry's Grammar School when he was in the year above me, and we were both budding young musicians.
“He left to go to music college and I hadn’t heard from him for ages when I got an e-mail out of the blue asking if I would sing this song he’d written for Help for Heroes.
“I listened to a demo and it’s a really lovely piece of music and for a great cause, so I told him I’d be very glad to.”
Lucy’s powerful soprano voice was first spotted when she was nine, and with the full backing of her parents she has gone on to perform at a variety of high-profile venues, ranging from Harrogate’s Royal Hall to Manchester's Hard Rock Cafe.
Last year she acted and sang in The Good Old Days at Leeds City Varieties, and her recordings have included classical standards like O Mia Babbino Caro and Ave Maria along with hits from the musicals, including The Sound of Music.
