Routes on Aire Valley Line hit after train break down at Shipley today

Trains from Ilkley, Keighley and Bradford were cancelled after the breakdown and passengers were told to expect delays of up to 50 minutes until 10.30am. Normal services are not expected to return until at least noon, according to the latest update.

Network Rail said the breakdown was affecting trains passing through Shipley. But there were also widespread cancellations on other services.

Today’s delays are the latest in a series of recent similar incidents.
