A head teacher says he is reviewing security at his school after suffering two break-ins in as many days.
And police say they will work with Guiseley School head Paul Morrissey to try to prevent further crimes after the raids, which have left the school with hundreds of pounds in repairs.
A pair of laptops were stolen in the first raid at the school, while a cash-box and change were taken in the second attack earlier this month.
The incidents caused damage to windows and a door and Mr Morrissey says the raids have forced him to look again at the school’s security arrangements.
Mr Morrissey said thieves took the two laptops after smashing a window to break into a building at the school, in Fieldhead Road, during the first raid.
“Police are currently looking at CCTV images taken both inside and outside the building,” he said.
“The damage to the building is estimated to cost £500 to repair. The school is reviewing security procedures.”
A window and door were then damaged in the second raid two days later, when the cash-box was taken. A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed the thefts took place on January 4 and 6 and said officers would be in contact with Mr Morrissey and staff at the school to improve security.
“We are working with the school to offer suitable crime prevention advice to deter further offences,” the spokesman said.
So far three men, in their 20s, have been arrested in connection with the two incidents.
The spokesman said the men, aged 21, 22, and 23, were arrested by officers on Tuesday following an investigation into the raids.
The three men are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
