A major overhaul has begun of damaged culverts in Keighley.
The Environment Agency scheme, which aims to reduce the risk of flooding to 76 properties, includes the removal of a disused footbridge across the River Worth.
The stone bridge at South Street, downstream of a culvert beneath the British Thornton site car park, will be cut into pieces and removed with a crane.
Across Yorkshire, the agency is examining all 800 culverts and prioritising those in need of repairs.
Project manager Glenn Fieldhouse said: “We have surveyed the River Worth in Keighley and identified that the disused footbridge at South Street has a significant potential to create a blockage.”
