A bridegroom who suffered a potentially-lethal brain haemorrhage four days before his planned wedding is finally due to tie the knot today.
John Duffey, 28, of Whitley Road, Keighley, collapsed on Christmas Day.
Doctors carried out life-saving surgery on him at a private hospital in Athens after friends and family raised more than £11,000 to pay for his treatment.
Mr Duffey, who works for Glusburn-based manufacturer Cirteq, had been due to marry Russian fiancee Elena Sidorova on December 29.
The couple were instead going to tie the knot at a ceremony today in Volos Town Hall, in Greece.
Mr Duffey’s sister Catherine Barker, of Cullingworth, said her brother was due to return to hospital in less than two weeks for a check-up and would then make a decision on when to return home.
