A major action sequence for TV soap Emmerdale was filmed last week on the moors above Silsden – and it could spell the end for one Bradford star.
Local internet forums were abuzz with comments from residents who had witnessed or seen the aftermath of dramatic car crash scenes near Robin Hood’s Stone, on Holden Lane, last Wednesday evening.
It is reported Bradford-born actor James Thornton, who plays farm owner John Barton, was involved in the filming and has been shooting what could be his final scenes.
Show insiders confirmed the filming but details of the scenes are being kept under wraps before they are due to be screened in February.
Silsden resident Michael Bray, 42, said: “I could see the lights on the hillside from my bedroom window.”I drove up there and on the back of a trailer, I saw two Land Rovers, one that was all smashed up and another that was dented.
