One of the district’s streets was turned into a putrid mess after a lorry shed its load of animal waste.
Traders and pedestrians in Keighley’s South Street got a nasty surprise yesterday afternoon when a lorry spilled a large quantity of waste across the road.
The incident happened shortly after 4pm, forcing police officers to close the road from the High Street roundabout to the junction with Worth Way.
A spokesman for Airedale and North Bradford Police said the waste involved was “chicken parts”.
Firefighters also attended the scene.
