The owners of a tearoom, which is believed to have featured in one of Charlotte Bronte’s famous books, have been granted a late alcohol licence.
The Balcony Tearoom, at Moor Lodge, Two Laws Road, can open until midnight on Sundays to Fridays and until 1am on Saturday nights.
Bradford Council’s licensing panel approved the application from Maxine Lodge as part of her development plans for Moor Lodge, which includes opening holiday flats and a farm shop as part of a wider expansion plan.
The move attracted criticism from some people amid concerns the scheme could exacerbate traffic problems.
Miss Lodge, who took over the business last year, said evening opening at the tearoom was aimed at users of the 22 flats due to open at the site in March.
The licence would allow her to serve evening meals and entertainment.
