Talented film-makers could snap up places on a Music Video masters in Bradford – thought to be the first course of its kind in the UK.
Indie record label Mute will run the course at the University of Bradford. It will be taught by industry professionals who have made videos for bands including Depeche Mode, Erasure and Goldfrapp.
Film-makers from across Europe are expected to apply for places on the course, which will initially have just 16 places.
Organisers say it is aimed at prospective producers, directors, editors, directors of photography or designers and “anyone who thinks they can make dynamic, provocative music videos”.
Course leader Dr Mark Goodall said: “This is an unbelievable opportunity to get a foot in the door of the music video business – masterclasses from people with a great track record in the industry through to doing it for real.”
The programme has been developed in collaboration with the Skillset Media Academy at the University of Bradford. It will give students the chance to work on location on existing shoots and to produce fully-commissioned music videos.
