A man who “squared up” to his former partner’s boss, has been sentenced to a community order.
Lee Clubley, 22, of Otley Road, Baildon, was sentenced at Bradford Magistrates Court for using threatening words or behaviour to the man on December 8 last year.
Prosecutor Nadine Clough said the incident happened after the victim, named in court as Mr Mistry, a manager at the Tequila nightclub in Bradford, was walking along a road with Clubley’s former partner.
An argument ensued and Clubley pushed Mr Mistry, who then stumbled, the court heard. Miss Clough said Clubley tried to headbutt the victim but he moved his head.
Clubley ran off but returned with two friends, carrying bottles, the court heard. The victim was said to have been followed to the club where staff intervened.
Clubley was sentenced to a 12-month community order with a curfew for three months. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
