Colin Todd reckons City have been a joy to watch so far this season.
And he is licking his lips at the prospect of seeing more of the same against second-placed Tranmere at Valley Parade on Saturday.
Doncaster chairman John Ryan joined a growing list of admirers enthusing about City's exciting approach. But Todd is not surprised to hear so many compliments.
"We've caused a lot of excitement with our style of play and everyone has noticed that," he said. "It's not just the results that have been good but the positive manner in which we are playing football."
City are four points off leaders Nottingham Forest and can overhaul Ronnie Moore's Tranmere if they beat them on Saturday.
Todd added: "If somebody had offered that position before a ball was kicked, I'd have taken it without a shadow of a doubt.
"You talk about confidence and it's oozing at the moment.
"We've just taken four points out of six away and it's vital that we don't miss the boat now by failing to take advantage of our next home game."
Dean Windass is not expected to face any punishment from the Football Association over his clash with Cheltenham's John Finnegan.
The FA requested a copy of the video from Saturday's match to study the off-the-ball incident. But it is unlikely that the cameras actually captured what had happened because it was away from the action.
Finnegan was sent off for elbowing Windass, who was booked after appearing to grab his opponent's groin.
