A disabled man crossing a road in a wheelchair and a car passenger were injured when a car went out-of- control in Shipley last night.
The Citroen C3 ended up ploughing into railings and bursting into flames at the junction of Market Street and Otley Road at about 10.30pm.
The man in a wheelchair was thrown about 50 yards along the road during the impact. He was taken to hospital with a suspected broken pelvis.
A woman, who was a front seat passenger in the car, was also taken to hospital with head injuries.
Police closed off the junction for about 30 minutes until the road was cleared.
* A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remained in police custody today.
