People of all ages helped to bring a splash of colour to a Bradford estate.
Volunteers turned out to plant a variety of spring bulbs including daffodils and tulips on land around Parkside estate in West Bowling.
“We want to cheer up green patches that have been a bit neglected,” said Yassar Taj, chairman of Parkside Residents’ Association. “We identified areas that would benefit from the flowers, such as Springwood Gardens opposite Bowling Park. We also did some edging on the verges too, which tidied up the footpaths.”
About 700 bulbs were planted over two days at the event funded by cash from Bradford Council’s Community Chest.
