Florence Institute for Boys: This opened in Liverpool in 1889 and is being restored. A museum of South End Life is included in the development plans.
As the Florrie played a major role in the lives of thousands who joined the Royal and Merchant navies any photos or memorabilia of the "old days" are required for the "Florrie News" and the museum itself.
Recollections of serving and retired seamen with memories or photos of their training ships, one of which was HMS Indefatigable moored in the Mersey, would be very welcome. Sheila Fellows, Florence Institute Trust, c/o Toxteych Town Hall, 15, High Park Street, Liverpool, L8 8DX.
