The Bradford NHS Stop Smoking Service is re-launching its Ramadan campaign aimed at the Muslim community.
The campaign - Don't Give Up Giving Up - encourages Muslims across the district to use the festival, which started yesterday, as a good time to fast from cigarettes and quit for good.
This year's campaign is also raising the profile of the Health Act that comes into force in summer 2007 and will require virtually all workplaces and enclosed public places to be smoke free - a measure the Telegraph & Argus lobbied for in our Clear the Air campaign.
The Bradford Stop Smoking Ramadan campaign will visit local mosques on the Stop Smoking Bus, taking the stop smoking message to the local community and offering dates as a gift of the season.
The bus tour starts on Thursday, and this will be followed by visits to several mosques throughout the month of Ramadan.
