Some of the bus routes in Bradford due to be cut or reduced as part of a major review of services have been saved following consultations with passengers.
But passengers in another part of the district will now be affected after Metro, the West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority, moved to save a service following a petition.
A meeting of Bradford Council’s Environment and Waste Management Overview and Scrutiny Committee last night heard amendments had been made to plans to change five of the proposed subsidised bus services following extensive public consultation.
Dave Pearson, assistant director for transport services at Metro, told the meeting at City Hall last night how under the amended proposals a section of the 614 service which serves Smith Avenue, in Wibsey, will be reduced to an hourly service to allow the 624 service in East Bowling to be maintained.
Mr Pearson said the biggest issue raised in the consultation was a petition signed by more than 1,000 East Bowling residents regarding changes to the 624.
