Police are urging members of the community to help solve the mystery of why three cars repeatedly rammed each other at speed on a residential Bradford street.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Highfield Place, Manningham, on Saturday teatime.
It is believed that three vehicles were involved in a series of collisions before the drivers fled the scene on foot.
The damaged cars were recovered by police and are now undergoing forensic examinations.
But police are mystified as to why the cars were apparently being deliberately driven at each other and have urged the public to help.
No-one is thought to have been injured in the incident.
But ward councillor Shabir Hussain said it was fortunate nobody had been hurt.
Coun Hussain said: “We don’t know what is behind this, but whatever it is, it must be a genuine concern for residents in the area.
“There could have been young children or elderly people in the street, they could have been seriously hurt."
