Grandmother Erica Russell has had her first tattoo at the age of 65 – in memory of her loving daughter.
Joanne Cawthorne, who was a young mother-of-two, died earlier this year from an aggressive form of cancer.
Since her death her family have launched themselves into fundraising to help with research into the disease that claimed her life – and also to help other cancer patients and their families.
Mrs Cawthorne (pictured above right), from Bingley, was first diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after the birth of her daughter, Nicole, in 2005.
After receiving intensive treatment she went into remission, but four days after the birth of her son, Henry, in 2009, she was told the cancer had returned.
“Joanne was so brave so me getting this tattoo is my own tribute to her,” said Mrs Russell.
