Thornton Singers are preparing for their first Christmas concert of the season.
Called A Christmas Celebration, it takes place at St James’s Church in Thornton next Saturday, December 3.
Children from Thornton Primary School are taking part in the performance which will be conducted and compered by the choir’s new musical director, David Mawson.

On Sunday, December 4, Thornton Singers will be entertaining shoppers at the Woodbank Garden Centre in Harden, from 2pm. There will be a collection for Manorlands Hospice.

The choir is back in the town by popular demand this Christmas and will be singing at Handmade, a hub of Yorkshire designers and craftmakers at Riddings Hall, Christchurch, next Saturday, December 3.
Attractions include a tombola and a selection of jewellery, ceramics, glass, art, textiles and photogaphy. Entrance is free and the doors open at 10am.
