A man has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after being kicked and punched during a city centre robbery.

The 33-year-old victim was attacked in a car park in New Southgate, Bradford, by a group of four males, who stole his wallet.

The attackers are believed to have followed the man from a cashpoint on Godwin Street. All the suspects made off on foot, leaving the victim “extremely shaken”.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which happened at around midday on Thursday.

Detectives believe a group of people waiting for a bus may have seen the suspects and could be able to help police with their investigation.

Two 16-year-old males, a 17-year-old male and a 22-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident and were in police custody last night. Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Nicola Bryar, of the Bradford South CID, said: “The victim of this incident was punched and kicked leaving him extremely shaken.

“It is believed he was followed after visiting the cashpoint on Godwin Street and targeted as a result.

“There was a group of people standing outside the bus stop nearby the cashpoint around Tesco’s and may have seen the suspects.

“We also believe that these men pushed past a woman with a pushchair walking along Sunbridge Road.

“The same men are also said to have whistled at two females further down the road. I would therefore like to hear from any one of these people as they may potentially be witnesses who could assist in our enquiries.

“Likewise, I would like to hear from anyone else who saw the incident take place.”
