Bradford’s Ghanaian community has been named the best in the UK at an awards ceremony in London.
The Ghanaian Community in Bradford (GCB) were the only northern-based representatives from the African country at The Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) awards. It was set up to celebrate, recognise and support Ghanaians’ achievements.
Yao Sateklah, chairman of GCB, said: “We are all ecstatic to win the award and proud to bring it to Yorkshire. We are keen to do more within our community, to teach others about our country and its strong connections to the UK and this award is the perfect start for us.”
The award recognises the efforts of the Bradfordians to promote Ghana within the city and its links with other African associations within Yorkshire.
