Three men from the Bradford area were part of a large heroin and cocaine trafficking conspiracy that saw police seize more than £100,000 in suspected drugs money, a Court heard.
Mohammed Shaukat, of Allerton Road, Bradford, Abuhassan Rehman, of Peckover Drive, Pudsey, and their courier, Mohammed Azeem, of Toller Grove, Heaton, Bradford, had all pleaded guilty to their roles in a plot to supply Class A drugs between February 16 and July 8 last year, a jury was told.
On trial at Bradford Crown Court, denying any part in the conspiracy, are Shanawaz Nazar, 29, of Broom Road, Rotherham, and Anthony Horsfield, 34, of Zetland Road, Doncaster.
Nazar also pleads not guilty to possession of £8,310 of cash as criminal property.
Prosecutor Jonathan Sandiford told the jury yesterday the case involved the wholesale trafficking of significant quantities of Class A drugs.
A police surveillance operation ended with the seizure in the summer of 2010 of more than £20,000 worth of cocaine and a large sum of drugs-contaminated cash.
Mr Sandiford said that Shaukat and Rehman had convictions for conspiring together to supply Class A drugs dating from October and December 2009.
He alleged the pair dealt in 2010 with Nazar who was a drug dealer from Rotherham.
Mr Sandiford claimed that Anthony Horsfield and his cousin Stuart Horsfield worked as couriers for Nazar, both making trips to Bradford to meet Azeem and transport money and drugs.
He told the jury that Stuart Horsfield had absconded while on police bail and so was not in the dock on trial.
The court was told that Ronald Crich, 74, of Thorne Road, Doncaster, allowed his house to be used to hide drugs and drugs money.
Mr Sandiford said there was evidence from police keeping observation and tracking mobile phone conversations that Nazar travelled to Bradford to meet Shaukat on February 17 last year.
The jury was told that Azeem received a package and that Nazar, Shaukat and Rehman all had an interest in the exchange.
Mr Sandiford said that Stuart Horsfield had £20,000 of cocaine at his home in Sandringham Road, Doncaster, when it was searched on July 7, 2010.
When Crich’s house was raided by the police the same day they found more than £100,000 of drugs-contaminated cash in carrier bags in a wardrobe and hidden under cushions on a sofa, the jury heard.
The trial continues.
