A newly renovated bungalow in Shipley was wrecked by fire last night with investigators not ruling out arson as the cause.
Two fire crews from Idle and Shipley battled for three hours to get the blaze in Westfield Lane, Wrose, under control.
They were called out by members of the public at 10.30pm who spotted smoke coming out of the back of the building.
Half of the roof and two of the bedrooms in the building were destroyed in the blaze, thought to have started in one of the bedrooms.
No one was living in the property when the fire started, but it is understood it had just been renovated and was ready to move into.
A spokesman for the Fire Service said: “They had just completed a renovation but we quickly established that no-one was there at the time of the fire which extremely damaged the property.
“We can’t rule out arson and half of the roof has gone.”
