Three of the district’s best butchers have made it to the regional finals of the foodie ‘Oscars’ The Countryside Alliance has just revealed the finalists who are vying for one of four Yorkshire Champion titles and the chance of national acclaim.
Nicknamed the ‘Rural Oscars’, the awards are now in their seventh year of celebrating the characters, skills, traditions and enterprise of the countryside through the people who work so hard to make it tick.
Each finalist has received numerous nominations from adoring customers and supporters and hopes to go all the way to the grand final next March.
The 2011 finalists for the Best Butcher category in the Yorkshire area are all from the Bradford district and are C & L Herd Family Butchers in Keighley, Ellisons Butchers in Cullingworth, and Lishman’s of Ilkley.
