A historic pub has been awarded a blue tourist plaque to recognise its cultural significance.
Bingley Civic Trust unveiled the plaque at Dick Hudsons in Otley Road, High Eldwick, near Bingley, this month.
It shows the name of the original pub on the site, The Fleece, and the dates the famous Dick Hudson was in charge behind the bar, from 1850 to 1879.
Society member Allan Mirfield said: “We want to preserve the heritage of Bingley by drawing attention to its historic buildings.
“Dick Hudsons is known the world over and is one of the Yorkshire locations people want to visit.
“According to stuff that was written about him, Dick Hudson was a character, a real ‘mine host’. He had a lot of parties and was personable.
“As well as the pub, he ran a 20-acre farm. He would use the stock for his food and the pub became known for its ham and eggs.”
