Business leaders have hit out at hikes in parking charges they claim will damage trade.
From next Monday, Bradford Council is increasing charges for motorists parking all day in its 17 long-stay car parks across the district.
But the move has been criticised by business owners in Keighley and Bingley, who claim the move will affect trade in the run up to Christmas and hit staff already struggling with rises in the cost of living.
Steve Seymour, chairman of Keighley Town Centre Association and manager of the Airedale Centre in Keighley, said: “This is going to have a negative impact on trade, especially close to Christmas when people are looking to make the most of their money."
