A “chaotic and dysfunctional” mother who punched her four-year-old daughter in the face over the Christmas period and neglected to feed the child when she was drunk and stoned in the New Year has been jailed for six months.
A judge told the 29-year-old woman: “You need a taste of custody,” saying she had committed acts of cruelty and violence on “a beautiful little girl”.
The woman, who cannot be named to protect the identity of her daughter, was reported to the police by a key worker at the hostel where she was staying over last Christmas, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
