A Bradford-born chef is battling for a place in this year’s Masterchef final.
Oli Farrar, 25, was one of two chefs from his heat to make it through to the penultimate round of the competition after impressing judges with his exceptional culinary skills.
Mr Farrar, who lived in Clayton until he was six, started working part-time as a chef ten years ago at a pub in York and is now employed by the five-star Haymarket Hotel, near Trafalgar Square, in London.
In an episode screened on Thursday viewers saw him cook a main course made up of food including maple and soy-glazed loin of venison, fondant potatoes and spring greens and a dessert of apple tarte tatin for three of the country’s toughest restaurant critics.
