A service to honour the lives of those killed and injured in road accidents has been organised by a Brighouse charity.
Anyone who has lost a loved one, or been injured on the region’s roads, is welcome to attend the Oakleaf Remembrance Service, which is now in its 17th year.
It is organised by Support and Care after Road Death and Injury (Scard) with its sister charity Campaign against Drinking and Driving.
Carole Whittingham founded Scard after her son Steven was killed by the driver of a stolen car who had been drinking and taking drugs in 1992, when he was just 27.
The service will include personal experiences of the bereaved and there will be readings from victims’ families. People are encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones to be displayed around the font.
The Oakleaf Remembrance Service will be at Leeds Parish Church on Sunday, November 20, at 3pm.
