A woman has died after being found in a pub car park with serious injuries.
The woman - who has yet to be identified - was found just before 8pm last night at the Swan Hotel in Liversedge.
She was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital but died from her injuries.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the female and police are appealing for any information which could lead to her identity or any incidents that may have occurred in the Liversedge area last night to contact police."
The A638 outside the pub at the junction of Bradford Road and Huddersfield Road was today closed as detectives carried out their inquiries. It was expected to be closed for the rest of the day.
Because of this police warned of major traffic delays and urged people to avoid the area.
A post mortem will be carried out today to ascertain cause of death and the coroner has been informed.
