Steve McNamara has reminded rivals eyeing up Bulls' Super League crown: We thrive on knock-out football.

The defending champions head into their elimination play-off tomorrow night knowing defeat will see them fall at the first hurdle on the road to Old Trafford.

Bradford have lost three of their last five games to finish fourth - their lowest final placing in nine years - and are 20/1 outsiders to retain the trophy.

But ahead of the showdown with Salford City Reds, boss McNamara warned the rest: "This club loves it when it comes to play-off time."

They may not be in top form but, having featured in the last five Grand Finals, only a fool would write the Bulls off.

Few people can see beyond Minor Premiers St Helens as eventual champions. Hull FC and Leeds fancy their chances, with Salford and Warrington completing the set.

But although Bradford have had their problems on and off the field this season, McNamara sees no reason why his side can't put together a three-match winning run to reach Old Trafford again.

And he believes the rest will fear them. "We're in the mix and we've got an opportunity to progress," said the head coach, plotting his first title run-in since taking over from Brian Noble. "The regular season is over and every time Bradford are in the play-offs, I think everyone has got one eye over their shoulder at us."

McNamara feels the outcome of Super League XI is far from certain.

"Once you get to this stage, six teams can win the competition," he added. "Everyone is saying Saints are nailed on but everyone has a realistic chance of taking it."
