A retired typist celebrated her 100th birthday in style with family and friends yesterday.
Muriel Ireson celebrated the landmark at Homecroft, Victoria Avenue, Ilkley.
Bradford-born Muriel was the only child of her parents, Harry and Minnie.
She worked as a typist and met her husband Sidney in the 1930s. The couple had two children, Gerald and Catherine.
When she was younger she enjoyed playing tennis and games.
She still enjoys good health and takes part in flower arranging activities at the home, staff say.
