An award-winning mental health group is expanding its services after landing a top national accolade.

Bosses at Confianza, which provides training for people with mental health problems and learning difficulties, say they are setting up a “central learning hub” at their base in Alice Street, Keighley.

The non-profit organisation, which was launched in June, is also starting ICT training for older people and has outlined plans to create a mobile service to reach people in isolated areas.

It comes after the group was awarded the Social Enterprise Mark, which identifies those organisations which put the well-being of society and the environment at the heart of their activities.

Gavin Farrar, director of Confianza, said: “We’re really proud to have been awarded the Social Enterprise Mark, it shows that all the hard work done by people involved with us has been worthwhile and nationally recognised.

“We are absolutely committed to supporting sustainable businesses and consequently helping local communities to thrive and prosper.”

Mr Farrar said his company wants to create a learning hub in the centre of Keighley, which would benefit the whole community.

He added that it is now looking for volunteers to help collect and collate information from local people on issues around employment, inclusion and diversity.
