District nurses from Bradford District Care Trust have appealed for people to back its bid to become a foundation trust.
The NHS trust has said that to continue delivering the full range of community-based, physical and mental well-being services it currently provides across the district, it will need to meet the Government’s requirement for it to gain foundation trust status no later than April 2014.
Nurses will be leaving information leaflets with patients while on their rounds during a 12-week public consultation period, which runs until December 5.
Lynn Tones, district nurse and team leader, said: “I believe by becoming a foundation trust we will be more accountable to local people. We want to keep delivering the best possible care close to where people need it.”
