A Bradford road which has been closed for two weeks after a major water pipe burst is expected to re-open tomorrow night.
Engineers working for Yorkshire Water have been repairing the burst, which was compared to “a bomb going off” when it happened in White Abbey Road on Monday, October 10.
It made a 20ft-deep crater, exposing pipes and electricity cables and affected about 20 businesses as torrents of water flooded White Abbey Road.
Motorists have also faced major disruptions while the road (pictured) has been closed for engineers to fix the leak.
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said yesterday: “We would like to thank people for their patience while we have been carrying out repairs on White Abbey Road following the burst on one of our large water pipes.
“The burst caused lots of consequential damage to the surrounding road and at the point where the pipe burst, other utilities were damaged.
“We have been working hard to carry out repairs as quickly as possible and we are hoping to have the road re-opened on Wednesday evening
