A housing and care provider is asking people in the Bradford distict to support its campaign to get the Government to appoint a minister for older people.
In the summer, the Telegraph & Argus started a campaign With Respect to encourage efforts to treat our older citizens with the dignity they deserve.
Anchor has now started using its Grey Pride campaign calling for an end to the prejudices faced by the elderly.
It wants people to sign its petition calling for a minister for older people who would be called upon when the Cabinet discusses such issues as local authority cuts, pensions, funding for care and the closure of rural post offices and libraries.
Gerry Foster, contracts manager for Anchor Trust in Bradford is asking T&A readers to add their names to those who have already signed its petition.The aim is for 100,000 signatures by its presentation to Downing Street in November.
