This picture by reader Denis Parkinson shows how fire engines raced to a Jet 2 plane after an emergency developed as it was landing at Leeds Bradford Airport.
The shocked pilot had to use only his footbrake after the jet developed a major problem.
Fire crews from 11 stations were scrambled to the airport when the aircraft, which was taking off bound for Faro, developed a problem with the brakes on Sunday night.
No-one was injured.
Mr Parkinson, of Bradford, said: "As can be seen in this picture, the plane stopped on the runway and the fire service checked the planes brakes for possible overheating.
"The fire engines then followed the plane back to the terminal as a precaution."
