A man was being quizzed by police on suspicion of dangerous driving after a fatal road collision.
The 39-year-old victim had got out of a taxi and was crossing Great Horton Road towards Windermere Road in Bradford when he was struck by a Renault Megane car driving out of the city.
He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later. A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and was being quizzed over the weekend.
Police cordoned off Pickles Lane and put a road block in place in Great Horton Road, near to the junction with Windermere Road following the incident at 1.20am on Saturday.
